One technique for writing comedy is to think in opposites. Take something that normally goes one way and run in the other direction.
For some reason I was thinking about jury duty. Although it’s a very important civic duty almost no one wants to do it. One night I thought, what if you had someone who was actually super excited to be on a jury? I turned that thought into this silly tweet. After thinking about it some more, I reshaped the idea into this cartoon.
